Summary:

3+ years of experience. Acknowledgeable doing retrofit lighting and working in the commercial setting. They would need to have a valid driver's license, OSHA 30, SST, the ability to drive, and reliable transportation. Formal training or schooling is highly desirable.

We work the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts and require electricians to drive to and from the job site and bring all of their tools.


PAY:  $22 / $32 hr

The Electrician / Lighting technician position must possess the following qualifications:

* Technical School Graduate
* Journeymen E2 Licensed (preferred)
* Fluency in English preferred; Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
* 3 years Electrical field experience
* CPR Certified and First Aid Qualified (preferred)

The following professional skills preferred:

* Knowledge of National Electric Code
* Knowledge of differences in voltages: 120, 208, 220, 240, 277,347 and 480
* Specular Reflector Kits -- which includes: brackets, specular reflectors, ballast covers, sizes, types, sockets, etc.
* Fluorescent and HID Ballast wire diagrams: ballast, remote, capacitor, emergency, dimming.
* Lamp Sockets: types, sizes, shunted and unshunted.
* Wires/circuits: sizes, voltages, amperage, gauges, color code, splicing taps and connection
* Fluorescent and HID Ballast types: electronic, magnetic, etc., manufacturers, 1 through 4 lamp
* Lamps: types, color, sizes, manufacturers
* Hazardous waste: PCB, DEHP, Mercury, Phosphors and Asbestos
* Safety Procedures: in addition to CPR and First Aid, lockout/tagout (OSHA requirement), shock, and fall protection
* Installation and product knowledge of Energy Efficient Lighting Luminaries and occupancy/vacancy sensors

Must be able to:

* Effectively trouble-shoot routine, non-routine and emergency situations
* Politely interact with clients on site
* Effectively communicate with supervisors


Responsibilities:

Compliance to Company's field policies and procedures to ensure measures of safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness are achieved;

* Attend and participate in meetings for training, coaching, exchanging job-related information, as requested by supervisor;

* Prompt daily start-up, set-up and installation activity, through the end of shift;

* Dress and act in compliance with Company standards;

* Maintain a neat work site, comply with hazardous waste handling /disposal requirements;

* Notify supervisor of any installation problems, delays, complaints associated with on-site safety and health issues, procedures, client issues, or emergency conditions, as well as any additional material needs identified;

* Maintain a positive attitude and efficient work methods to contribute to a neat and comfortable work environment;

* Provide support to co-workers as needed

* Complete any other tasks, as requested by supervisor


OTHER:

* Must be NALMCO certified (level I) within three months of hire

* Must be NALMCO certified (level II) within six months of hire

* The corporation suggests that, if hired, employees earn Continuing Education Credits in position and industry-related areas
