Cost Accountant
About the job Cost Accountant
- Partner with stakeholders responsible for OpEx cost centers to support their financial needs.
- Conduct cost controlling and analytical activities for various Operations OpEx cost centers.
- Report and analyze operational variances, including production order variances, purchase price variances, and manufacturing variances, such as manufacturing hours and material receipts.
- Participate in the annual budget exercise, focusing on operational costs.
- Control and review Capex spending and costs associated with non-quality issues.
- Assist with inventory and standard cost accounting and controlling.
- Perform monthly audits of the inventory cycle count and report findings to Operations.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Generate monthly reporting and forecasting as per corporate requirements, providing variance explanations for Operations cost centers, including manufacturing variances, SG&A, period costs, and Capex.
- Assist in the annual cost roll-up.
- Support the annual WIP count.
- Fulfill additional year-end reporting requirements from corporate.
- Provide support in other accounting areas and special projects as requested by the manager.
- Actively contribute to continuous process improvement, benchmark best practices, and identify opportunities for material cost reduction.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-4 years of working experience, preferably in a manufacturing multinational corporation (MNC).
- Preferred experience in cost accounting and moderate financial reporting.
- Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
- Strong team player with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Hands-on approach with keen attention to detail.
