About the job Software Project Manager
The role requires the incumbent to lead projects from conception to completion, working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The candidate will manage project planning, execution, and team management to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Acquire project requirements including resources, information, and materials.
- Conduct project reviews to recommend schedule changes and resource adjustments.
- Develop detailed project plans, including activities, resource planning, and cost estimation.
- Document scope changes, issues, and risks affecting implementation.
- Ensure projects meet schedules, budgets, and technical quality targets.
- Establish and gain consensus on project goals with stakeholders.
- Resolve issues associated with project implementation with users, technical staff, and management.
- Team Management:
- Define common goals and accountability among staff.
- Develop staff through coaching, mentoring, and career discussions.
- Implement effective performance management practices.
- Oversee team management, including budgets, forecasting, work allocations, and staffing.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of project management experience, with a focus on IT or software development projects. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
- Certifications: Certified IT Project Manager, PMP, CITPM, CSM, or similar certification is desirable.
- Skills: Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, familiarity with both waterfall and agile frameworks, strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
