At Search | Select | Hire Talent - on behalf of our client- we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Strategy Director to join the leadership team at one of the largest companies in the MENA region, a leading player in the FMCG sector. The Senior Strategy Director will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the company's long-term strategic direction, ensuring alignment with their business objectives and market opportunities. This role requires a seasoned strategist with a deep understanding of the FMCG industry, strong analytical capabilities, and a track record of successfully leading transformative business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies that align with the company's vision, mission, and goals. Lead the annual strategic planning process, ensuring all departments contribute to and align with the overarching strategy.
Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats within the FMCG industry. Provide actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
Innovation and Growth: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and product innovations. Develop and oversee the execution of growth initiatives that drive market share and profitability.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including the executive team, department heads, investors, and key partners, to ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.
Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to monitor the effectiveness of strategic initiatives. Regularly report on progress and adjust strategies as necessary to meet business objectives.
Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing strategy team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring professional growth and development.
Change Management: Lead the organisation through change management processes, ensuring smooth transitions during the implementation of new strategies, initiatives, or business models.
Financial Oversight: Work closely with the finance department to ensure that all strategic initiatives are financially viable and contribute to the overall financial health of the company.
Sustainability and CSR: Integrate sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) into the company's strategic framework, ensuring that all initiatives align with our commitment to ethical business practices and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, or management consulting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the FMCG industry.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the FMCG sector, including market dynamics, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex data into clear, actionable strategies.
Leadership: Proven leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams. Ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organisation.
Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies to diverse audiences and build consensus.
Financial Acumen: Strong financial literacy, with experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and P&L management.
Global Perspective: Experience working in a global or multinational environment, with an understanding of cross-cultural dynamics and international market trends.
