About the job Student Support Specialist (Sembawang)
Seeking a qualified and experienced Counsellor to support students' social, emotional and mental well-being in a primary school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one counselling and coaching for students.
- Conduct group and individual intervention programmes on social skills, emotional regulation, cyber wellness, learning motivation and peer relationships.
- Support restorative practices and student behaviour management.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers, parents and external agencies.
- Conduct talks, workshops and sharing sessions for staff and parents.
- Support student well-being initiatives, Character & Citizenship Education (CCE) and Education & Career Guidance (ECG) programmes.
Requirements
- Recognised Postgraduate Qualification or Master's Degree in Counselling.
- Minimum 3 years' counselling experience, preferably in a school or youth-focused setting.
- Experience in group interventions and supporting students with additional needs is an advantage.
- Strong communication, collaboration and case management skills.
- Ability to apply restorative practices and strengths-based approaches.
- Salary will commensurate with qualification and experience

Duration/ Working hours:
12 months contract (Option to extend another year (3 Aug 2026 to 31 Jul 2027)
3 weekdays: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., inclusive of 1hr lunch break (5 working
hours) – workdays to be confirmed later.
2 weekdays: 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., inclusive of 1hr lunch break (5
working hours) – workdays to be confirmed later.
School Term Date
Term 3 2026 3 August 2026 to 3 Sep 2026 (5 weeks)
Term 4 2026 14 Sep 2026 to 27 Nov 2026 (10 weeks)
Term 1 2027 4 Jan 2027 to 12 Mar 2027 (10 weeks)
Term 2 2027 22 Mar 2027 to 28 May 2027 (10 weeks)
Term 3 2027 28 June 2027 to 31 July 2027 (5 weeks)
*Work weeks during school holidays will be advised at a later date
Service not required on designated school holidays, Saturdays,
Sundays, gazette public holidays.
The school may adjust the work schedule for the Student Support
Specialist to support school events, subjected to school needs. The
Personnel will be notified of any such adjustments at least one (1)
week in advance.
