Job Description

  • Support the implementation of the school's UPLIFT Programme and student engagement initiatives.
  • Build positive mentoring relationships with identified students through regular engagement and guidance.
  • Facilitate structured after-school activities, discussions, and reflection sessions.
  • Conduct small-group and pull-out intervention sessions for students requiring additional support.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, social-emotional development, and school connectedness.
  • Monitor student participation and provide feedback to relevant school personnel.
  • Work closely with Student Management Teams, Year Heads, School Counsellors, and teachers to support students' development.
  • Maintain appropriate records, attendance documentation, and professional communication where required.
  • Participate in programme briefings, reviews, and school-based intervention initiatives.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with youths, adolescents, or students-at-risk.
  • Experience in schools, youth agencies, social service organisations, or mentoring programmes will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with adolescents.
  • Calm and confident in managing challenging situations.
  • Comfortable using technology, documentation systems, and body cameras where required.
  • Able to build rapport with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and authority.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and commitment to student welfare.
  • Able to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Proactive in supporting positive behavioural change through engagement and mentoring.

Duration/Working hours:

12 months contract (Option to extend another year) (Jul 2026 to Jul 2027)

  • Mondays to Fridays: 12:00am to 6:00pm.
  • Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
