Discipline Support Officer (Marine Terrace)
About the job Discipline Support Officer (Marine Terrace)
Seeking a committed and professional Discipline Support Officer to support student management and restorative discipline efforts for Sec 1 to Sec 5 students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in student investigations and incident documentation
- Supervise detention sessions and after-school corrective work
- Support student reflection, behaviour improvement and restorative practices
- Assist with in-house suspension supervision and learning continuity
- Conduct school patrols during recess, lunch and dismissal
- Support conflict management and student de-escalation
- Work closely with Year Heads, Student Management Team and school staff
Requirements
- Former uniformed service experience preferred (Police, Prison Service or equivalent)
- Experience working with at-risk youths or behavioural support
- Strong communication, conflict management and interpersonal skills
- Calm, professional and firm yet respectful approach with students
- Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
- Passionate about supporting youth development and student growth
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in youth engagement, investigation or restorative discipline work
- Experience in educational, community or correctional settings preferred
Duration/Working hours:
4 months contract (June 26 to Oct 26)
Mondays to Thursdays: 9:00am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch
break (7 working hours)
Fridays: 9:00am to 3:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break (5 working
hours)
Service not required on designated Home-based learning days,
Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, and designated school
holidays (e.g. Youth Day, Teachers' Day, Term break).
There will be a minimum of 4 engagement hours per work day.
