7.30am to 2.30pm, inclusive of 45 mins lunch break

Job Description

School Laboratory Technician will report to Level Head (Science) on the day-to-day running of the science laboratories and will be primarily responsible for the following duties:

  • Prepare and set up materials and apparatus required for science experiments conducted by teachers. 
  • Assist teachers during practical sessions, especially when hazardous materials, specialised equipment, or microscopes are used. 
  • Clean, clear, and reset the laboratory after each experiment to ensure it is ready for the next class.
  • Handle preparation and procurement of materials and apparatus for Science Performance Tasks, enrichment programmes, and workshops. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of both Science Rooms. 
  • Monitor the safe use of laboratory equipment and apparatus by students and staff.
  • Conduct stock-taking processes, ensuring accurate tracking of science equipment and apparatus. 
  • Procure and source materials to replace perishable and non-perishable items, maintain records of breakage, and ensure sufficient supplies are always available.
  • Provide administrative support to the Level Head (Science), including filing, typing, scanning, and preparing resources for teachers. 
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the school to support its smooth operation.

Requirements

  • Candidate should preferably have minimum qualification, GCE N Level Certificate Candidate with the relevant experience and expertise may also apply. 
  • Good communication, inter-personal and customer service skills. 
  • Good team player with a high level of initiative. 
  • Positive and willing to learn. 
  • Have basic computing skills in MS Office systems such as Microsoft Word & Excel. 
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment. Able to multitask. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision. 
  • Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience working as a Laboratory Technician.
