Youth Worker (Sengkang)
About the job Youth Worker (Sengkang)
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the Student Management Team in managing at-risk students and students with behavioural, attendance or disciplinary concerns.
- Assist with case management, student supervision and preliminary investigations.
- Conduct student check-ins, mentoring and social-emotional support.
- Use counselling and restorative practices to encourage positive behaviour and student well-being.
- Monitor students serving detention, suspension or other intervention programmes.
- Identify and escalate students requiring additional support.
- Maintain proper records and case documentation.
- Work closely with teachers, counsellors and other school personnel on student interventions.
- Conduct student engagement activities and life-skills programmes.
- Perform related student management and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or a related field preferred.
- Accreditation in restorative practices is an advantage.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in counselling, social work or working with youths.
- Good communication, interpersonal and student engagement skills.
- Able to handle confidential information professionally.
- Mature, patient and able to work independently.
Duration/Working hours:
1 year contract (Option to extend another year)
8.00am – 5.00pm, inclusive of 1-hour unpaid lunch break (8 paid hours per day / 16 hours per week).
Service required until 22 Oct 2027 / 20 Oct 2028.
No service required on weekends, school holidays, gazetted public holidays and End-of-Year examination periods.
Working days may vary according to school needs, but 16 hours per week will remain unchanged.
Estimated total hours: 544 hours per contract period.
