Job Scope

  • Provide emotional, behavioural, and pastoral support to students.
  • Offer one-on-one guidance to students experiencing emotional or social challenges.
  • Support student well-being through active listening, restorative practices, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Monitor and follow up on students' attendance, behaviour, and overall well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student support and interventions.
  • Respond to student incidents and provide immediate emotional support during crises.
  • Support social-emotional learning (SEL) and student well-being programmes.
  • Work closely with school staff, parents, and external support agencies where required.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related discipline.
  • Strong empathy, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Calm, patient, and able to manage challenging situations professionally.
  • Good conflict resolution and behaviour management skills.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
  • Prior experience working with children or students in schools, student care, counselling, or pastoral support environments is preferred.

Duration/working hours:

5 months contract (Jul 2026 to Nov 2026)

Monday to Friday:

7.15am to 2.45pm, inclusive of 1 hour lunch
break, unless otherwise required by school

Officer may be required to put in additional hours
should there be students requiring support beyond
working hours.
