Youth Worker (Bright Hill)

Seeking a dedicated and student-centred Youth Worker to support student mentoring, behavioural intervention and school engagement programmes for secondary school students.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mentoring and regular check-ins for students requiring additional support.
• Support detention sessions, restorative conversations and behaviour reflection activities.
• Supervise students on in-house suspension and facilitate re-entry planning.
• Engage students during recess, lunch and other unstructured periods.
• Assist in planning and facilitating intervention programmes for at-risk students.
• Monitor student progress and provide updates to the Student Management Committee.
• Work closely with Discipline Masters, Year Heads, School Counsellors, SEN Officers and teachers.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work, Education or a related field.
• Experience working with youths, preferably in a school, community or social service setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to build rapport with students and manage challenging behaviours positively.
• Able to work collaboratively with school staff and stakeholders.

Duration/Working hours:

5 months contract (Immediate)

Monday – Thursday 6.5 hours (excluding 0.5 hour lunch)

Service not required

• On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, school holiday and Home-Based Learning (HBL) days.
