Contract duration
1 Feb 2026 to 31 Dec 2026.
Working Hours
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 8:00 am to 2.30 pm, inclusive of 30 min lunch break
Thursdays: 8.00 am to 5 pm
The school operates on 5 day work week. Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays. Services not required for June Holiday and December Holiday.
Job Description
Lab Support Services
- Assist in the preparation and set up of materials, apparatus and equipment for day to day experiments and for performance tasks.
- Ensure all practicals/experiments that take place in the labs run smoothly.
- Assist teachers to trouble-shoot where possible. Check on practicals/experiments once in a while when lessons are ongoing.
- Conduct safety review of labs under his or her charge once every 6 months and suggest recommendations to HOD to improve lab safety.
- Work with Science Level Representatives to purchase learning materials and/or resources outside of school during working hours
Lab Maintenance
- Monitoring schedule of teachers coming in and out of the science rooms.
- Assist in procurement of science equipment & instrument.
- Maintain science equipment and apparatus in the lab.
- Maintain inventory record of science lab equipment.
- Assist science teachers in lesson preparation (when necessary).
- Assist in the maintenance and safety of the science labs, hydroponics, Discovery Haven, pond, outdoor spaces at level 3, learning spaces & showcases
- Assist in the maintenance of living organisms in the lab (e.g. insects, fish etc)
- Support Science Department, to share experiences with HOD and teachers in the planning practical schedule and experiments requirement to enhance students experience.
- Maintain the cleanliness of equipment, laboratories and/or learning spaces
- Make improvements to the setup of the lab to enhance the learning experience of the students.
Other Duties
- Any other duties assigned by Principal, Vice-Principal and HOD/Science deemed necessary.
- Assist teachers in running Green Sparks Club (CCA) activities (every Thursdays) and/or competitions /training.
- Assist in General office in administrative work during school holidays and when required, and on days when there are no lessons for students.
Requirements
Qualification: GCE N or O Levels . Those without the relevant qualifications but with experience may also be considered.
Skill & Experience:
(a) Good interpersonal skills
(b) Preferrably with at least 1 years of working experience in Laboratory or Clinical environment
(c) Basic knowledge of ICT skills – using of Microsoft word, excel or powerpoint
