Job Description: Project Foreman (MEP Construction - HVAC and Plumbing)

The Project Foreman plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of HVAC and Plumbing projects for our MEP Construction company. They are responsible for leading a team of skilled technicians and ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Management:

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned projects, including scheduling, coordination, and supervision of activities related to HVAC and Plumbing installations.
    • Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement project plans, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
    • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues or delays, taking proactive measures to address them and keep the project on track.
    • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and supervise a team of HVAC and Plumbing technicians, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Train and mentor team members, promoting professional development and ensuring their skills align with project requirements.
    • Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring that workload is distributed appropriately and that all team members are working efficiently and effectively.
    • Resolve conflicts or issues that arise among team members, promoting a positive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Possess a strong understanding of HVAC and Plumbing systems, equipment, and installation processes, and stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the team, addressing any technical challenges or concerns that may arise during project execution.
    • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that workmanship meets project specifications, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication and Collaboration:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers, maintaining regular communication and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
    • Collaborate closely with the project management team, providing updates on project status, resource needs, and any issues that may impact the project timeline or budget.
    • Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors to ensure smooth integration of HVAC and Plumbing systems within the overall project scope.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily progress reports, material requisitions, change orders, and as-built drawings.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on project performance, highlighting key metrics, achievements, and areas for improvement.
    • Assist in the estimation and bidding process for future projects, providing input on resource requirements and project feasibility.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in MEP construction, with a focus on HVAC and Plumbing systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in HVAC and Plumbing are preferred.
