Project Manager (HVAC & Plumbing Construction Company)

As a Project Manager for our HVAC & Plumbing construction company, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing a wide range of projects in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing domains. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, to ensure effective coordination and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the company leadership to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to review project specifications and ensure alignment with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including material selection, purchase orders, and supplier management.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or obstacles, taking proactive measures to address them and keep the project on track.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess project status, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide technical support to the project team.

Team Management and Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of HVAC and plumbing technicians, subcontractors, and support staff.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring that each team member's skills and expertise are utilized optimally.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's technical competencies and ensure compliance with industry best practices.

Client Communication and Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide project updates.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Actively seek opportunities for repeat business and new project leads, building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Monitor project expenses and track budgetary performance against the project plan.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and efficient resource allocation to maximize project profitability.
  • Review change orders and contract modifications, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Enforce adherence to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations in all project activities.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure workmanship meets project specifications and exceeds client expectations.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control team to implement improvement strategies and maintain a high level of service excellence.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project close-out documentation.
  • Provide regular project status updates to company leadership, highlighting key milestones, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in HVAC and Plumbing construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and Plumbing systems, equipment, and installation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in HVAC and Plumbing are preferred.
