Job Overview:
Continuing to Build their elite BD team, each successful candidate will assist in the identification and acquisition of new clients for Companys drug substance and drug product suite of capabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Generate business leads and revenue from drug substance and drug product programs through the candidates existing list of contacts
- Continually generate and feed a pipeline of new business leads via prospecting, networking, and other up-to-date methods, virtual or in-person, for business development
- Have a good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry landscape, including small molecule, biologic, oligonucleotide, and peptide therapeutic modalities
- Gather market insights and assess market potential and the competitive US landscape to report back to the internal group with actions required to generate business
- Interact effectively with the Project Coordination Office (PCO) and other relevant groups to drive effective performance of projects
- Be able to structure deals, lead negotiation processes, and close deals, in coordination with relevant supporting internal teams and management
- Attend scheduled client meetings to report/follow up action items to Client, Tech, and China teams to keep projects on schedule and on-budget
- Issue instructions for requests, including samples, batch records, etc., keeping to Scope of work and budget
- Complete RFIs and RFPs for submission by Clients
- Provide support in proposal writing
Experience Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
- BS in a science field (Chemistry or Biology, preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience at an international CDMO
- Innovator client prospecting
- Deal construction and negotiation
- Knowledgeable in API and drug substance development timelines and requirements
- Knowledge of regulatory filings a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Up to 50% travel, some international
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
