Job Summary
Responsible for developing and qualifying new local and international suppliers to strengthen SCGP's sourcing competitiveness, supply resilience, and access to technology. Drive supplier development from sourcing and trial coordination through vendor/material approval, supported by sourcing analytics, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Description
- Identify, develop, and evaluate new local and international suppliers to expand sourcing options and improve competitiveness in cost, technology, quality, service, and supply security.
- Manage the end-to-end new source development process, including supplier sourcing, supplier proposal, trial coordination, evaluation, and progression toward Approved Vendor and Approved Material status.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Supplier Database to ensure accurate, up-to-date supplier information for strategic sourcing decisions.
- Conduct spend analysis and assess supply risks to identify opportunities for new and alternative sourcing.
- Monitor global market conditions, industry trends, geopolitical developments, tariffs, and regulations that may impact sourcing capability and supply continuity.
- Develop sourcing strategies and mitigation plans to balance cost, quality, and supply risk.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track new source development performance and support management decision-making.
- Regularly report project progress, results, and sourcing risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Performance Enhancement, QA, R&D, Buyers, Stores, and plant users, to complete supplier trials and approvals within the required timeline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields (Bachelor GPA > 2.70, Master GPA > 3.30).
- 1–3 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, supplier development, or related functions; experience related to SCGP business is an advantage.
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier development, and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Strong analytical skills in spend analysis, sourcing analytics, and data visualization; experience with Power BI dashboards is an advantage.
- Knowledge of market intelligence, negotiation, project management, and supply risk management.
- Strong analytical thinking, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
- Good command of English in verbal and written communication (TOEIC > 550).
- Willing to work onsite at SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (Bangkok) with occasional upcountry travel.
