Leads, plans, and coordinates the study stages of capital or closure projects, including the management of all technical and commercial areas. Accountable for safe and successful delivery of the study and its business case by ensuring.Professional requiring knowledge and experience in own technical or professional discipline. Solves a range of problems using largely defined procedures and solutions. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Job responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate feasibility and pre-feasibility studies for capital and closure projects.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and business requirements.
- Support business case development by assessing project feasibility, risks, costs, and potential benefits.
- Develop study plans, ensuring the appropriate methodologies, data, and analysis are applied.
- Manage and coordinate external consultants and contractors to deliver studies on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Lead the preparation and review of preliminary project cost estimates, considering labor, materials, equipment, and construction costs.
- Conduct high-level financial evaluations, including ROI, cash flow, and Net Present Value (NPV) analysis, to support investment decisions.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.
- Collaborate with technical experts and cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure study accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors, asset owners, and key stakeholders, providing regular updates throughout the study lifecycle.
- Prepare clear reports and presentations summarizing study findings, recommendations, costs, risks, and project performance.
- Monitor study progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and escalate issues when necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing study processes, cost estimation methods, and project delivery practices.
- Support the evaluation and prioritization of capital projects to align with business strategy and portfolio objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Mechanical, or HVAC Engineering) or a related discipline.
- Experience managing engineering or capital project studies.
- Knowledge of engineering studies, construction, and manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, SharePoint, and Power BI is preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- 3–5 years of experience in study management, project management, or capital projects.
- At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Good command of English is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines.
