Role purpose:

To lead Vendor Management activities for the Cloud, Compute & Storage team (part of IS&T Technology Platforms). This role is responsible for driving an effective link between our Service Lines, Procurement and Vendors to maximize value from our contracts.

Contract length: 6+6 months

Job Responsibilities:

  • Defines the approach for managing our vendor contracts and relationships, and maximizing value for Cloud, Compute & Storage
  • Implements Rio Tintos Supplier Relationship Management framework into Cloud, Compute & Storage including governance requirements and performance monitoring
  • Chairs a monthly Partner Forum attended by Cloud, Compute & Storage leaders, Procurement and occasionally Vendors, to build a closer working partnership and discuss pertinent topics as a team
  • Holds deep knowledge of all our vendor contracts and acts as main point of contact for Cloud, Compute & Storage contract information
  • Produces insights and usage analysis with a view to assessing performance and maximizing value
  • Builds and maintains a repository of contract snapshots that provides our teams with key contract information / summaries
  • Tracks upcoming contract renewals for the year and ensures all necessary team members are included in discussions with Procurement around strategy, requirements, issues, etc
  • Help lift the level of service/s where needed
  • Vendor invoice queries, validation and forecasting

Job requirements:

  • Solid understanding of Supplier Relationship Management
  • Strong knowledge of our technology infrastructure domain and key vendors / products / services
  • Ability to take ownership and deliver objectives-based outcomes with minimal direction
  • - Stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Experienced in working with Global Teams and knowledge sharing globally
