Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide services and support on metallurgical laboratory activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team's objectives and targeted plan.

Contract Length: 12 months

What the role entails:
- Ensure the highest standard of safety performance is maintained by ensuring compliance to all regulatory requirements, HSE Management Systems, health and safety standards
- Support all Health and Safety initiatives and improvement programs and implementing risk control actions, actively participate in safety toolbox meetings, learn from the incident reviews and take a corrective action
- Maintain operation of Metallurgical laboratory, manage and coordinate all activities accordingly, complying with HSE and applicable standards
- Manage and conduct metallurgical tests using respecitve laboratory SWP and techniques (Particle size determination, Weekly PSD & Monthly MLA)
- Involvement in the development of concentrator conversion studies with external team and coordination of CTS engagement
- Implement and manage assignments associated with metallurgy research projects evolving several minor projects or one intermediate project
- Investigate and do the required studies for the best benchmarking and industrial practices
- Continuously evaluate and keep abreast of new technologies for improving plant efficiency and reducing operating cost
- Ensure all equipment are accurately calibrated to provide accuracy of measurement devices and deviation is within recommended margin which will include calibration sampling, sample processing, and data entry
- Use central systems for standard approval processes (PR, PO, SES, ANSI etc) and other appropriate ways
- Ensures sufficient and effective partnership with internal teams such as open pit & MTS, geology and Business transformation and mod-long term production planning teams

Job requirements:
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities
- Mineral Processing, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineers or relevant discipline
- At least 3 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
