Role Purpose:
Leads, plans, and coordinates the study stages of capital or closure projects, including the management of all technical and commercial areas. Accountable for safe and successful delivery of the study and its business case by ensuring.
Contract Length: 2 years
Job responsibilities:
- Study Planning and Design
- Participate in business case development. Analyze business needs and provides input into the development of practical solutions to difficult problems
- Develop comprehensive study plans, outlining methodologies, data requirements, and analysis techniques
- Support compliance with standardized Study processes, systems and tools across Study
- Oversee study contractors/consultants to ensure the delivery of studies within agreed timelines, scope, cost, and quality criteria
- Oversee the assessment of project Order of Magnitude (OOM) and Prefeasibility, including technical viability, operational impact, regulatory compliance, and potential risks
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to gather relevant data and insights for accurate study evaluations
- Lead the development of preliminary cost estimates for capital projects, considering construction, equipment, labor, materials, and other relevant expenses
- Ensure cost estimates are realistic, accurate, and aligned with industry benchmarks
- Collaborate with financial experts to perform high-level financial analyses, including cash flow projections, return on investment (ROI), and net present value (NPV) calculations
- Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing the results of the Studies, including OOM, Prefeasibility assessments, cost estimates, and risk profiles
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferable in HVAC engineering), or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in study and project management, with a focus on capital projects
- At least 3 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on-the-job training
- Fluency in English is an advantage
- Ability to work in achieving tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Proven experience in managing studies, especially capital project studies
- Experience in the engineering studies, construction, and manufacturing
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders, and influence.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
