Role Description:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will facilitate HR operational excellence through strategic and operational HR management for company. This role focuses on executing HR business partnering aligned with frameworks, global standards, and supporting systems to foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and performance. The HRBP will support the retention of top talent and the development of critical competencies and capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to significantly impact the business by working closely with the local leadership team to deliver the HR processes that underpin sustainable and profitable growth.

This is a 6-month specialist role based in our Ulanbaatar office in Mongolia. The HRBP is expected to quickly integrate into the team and understand the business context.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic HR support and guidance to the local leadership team.
  • Ensure effective implementation of HR policies at the regional/business unit level.
  • Manage and oversee the local HR budget.
  • Work with the Regional HR Employee Services teams to ensure seamless HR operations.
  • Offer planning, advice, and responses to emerging HR issues.
  • Champion standard organizational design within the region.
  • Provide coaching and support to the local leadership team.
  • Lead the implementation of organizational-wide projects at the regional level as required.
  • Oversee and participate in negotiations of collective agreements in the region.
  • Review regional industrial relations trends and provide ER/IR advice to the business.
  • Partner with the Center of Excellence (COE) to deliver specialist functional services and manage relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a multinational company, preferably in the mining, oil and gas, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong HR functional skills, particularly in remuneration, organizational design, change, and talent management.
  • Working knowledge of relevant employment legislation, laws, and awards.
