Main Purpose:

The QS will be responsible for the management of the cost related activities and progress measurements on major construction contracts, during the execution of the Project.

The QS will work hand-in-hand with the Contract Specialist during the post-award phase of the Project. The pre-award phase of the project will be done by others.

Responsibilities:

• Measurement of quantities from construction drawings and/or physically on site
• Progressive agreement of these measured quantities with the construction contractors.
• Where possible, the work shall be measured, priced and agreed with construction contractor in advance of construction, from drawings issued for construction purposes.
• Measured and valued work shall be used for cost control, reporting and payment certificate valuations.
• All measurements are to be clearly cross referenced, checked, and filed for possible audit by the client's auditors.
• Prepare and keep accurate and up to date final cost forecasts for each construction contract.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports reflecting latest contract variations and forecasting measurement variations based on the measured and valued quantities.
• Prepare monthly progress payment certificates for construction contracts including calculating, evaluating, or verifying contract price adjustments where applicable.
• Measurement, pricing and assistance with agreement of all variation orders or modifications on the construction packages.
• Measurement and agreement of final accounts for all construction packages.
• Preparation of final account documentation for approval by Client.
• Assisting with evaluation and agreement of contractual claims for the construction packages from a financial viewpoint.

Requirements:

• Qualified Quantity Surveying with minimum of 5 years' experience on industrial site i.e. civil, structural electrical, control, mechanical and piping.
• Fluent in English
• Conversing in Mandrin will be an advantage
• Able to work permanently on a remote site
• Able to live in a remote construction camp
• Willingness to assist with any tasks required for smooth site operations
