Our Client, an international e-commerce company with a strong presence in the USA, is looking for a creative and driven Amazon Product Development Manager to help the company launch new, competitive products under its growing brand portfolio. In this role, you'll be responsible for turning niche ideas into differentiated product concepts that stand out on Amazon both visually and functionally.

You'll research existing products in a given niche, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop enhanced product ideas supported by compelling Amazon-ready visuals. Your concepts will be tested in blind focus groups against current best-sellers to determine their potential. This is a high-impact role that blends market research, creative thinking, and visual presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You'll receive product or niche directions from the company, outlining the type of product the company is interested in. Your first task will be to thoroughly research the niche. This includes analyzing current competitors, Amazon listings, product reviews, YouTube content, and using tools like ChatGPT to gather insights and identify opportunities.
  • Using what you've learned, you'll come up with one or more creative ways to improve upon what already exists in the market. This could be through a better design, additional function, improved materials or components, smarter packaging, a new size or color, or any other meaningful improvement. Your goal is to create a product with added value that can compete without raising the cost significantly.
  • Once your idea is ready, you'll create a concept for an Amazon main image that visually showcases the product and its value. This starts with a basic sketch or mockup, which you'll turn into a high-quality image using tools like Photoshop, AI generators, competitor references, or even 3D modeling. You can design it yourself or work with freelancers if needed.
  • After your image is ready, you'll compare it side-by-side with the main images of the top three best-sellers in the same niche to see if your product visually stands out and offers a more appealing choice to customers.
  • Finally, you'll submit the concept and final image(s) to the company. The company will run a blind test with focus groups, comparing your image to the competitors. If your concept scores well, the company knows that is headed in the right direction.
  • You are encouraged to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and collaborate with us throughout the process to deliver the strongest possible product concepts.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Amazon product research, private label development, or FBA.
  • Strong ability to analyze market gaps and customer needs.
  • Creative thinker with a good sense for product trends and differentiation.
  • Proficiency in tools like Photoshop, Canva, or AI design tools.
  • Ability to manage concept creation, either independently or with freelancers.
  • Comfort with reviewing and comparing Amazon listings and images.
  • Experience with 3D modeling or product packaging design would be a plus.
