Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Job Purpose:
To manage preventive and corrective maintenance operations for equipment and systems in the plant to ensure continuous and efficient operation. This includes coordinating with maintenance teams, troubleshooting complex issues, and analyzing performance to extend equipment lifespan and achieve high productivity. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for minimizing unplanned downtime and meeting maintenance and quality goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Management:
- Preventive Maintenance Execution: Plan and execute preventive maintenance for equipment according to the scheduled timelines to minimize unexpected failures and ensure optimal performance.
- Update Maintenance Plans: Review and update preventive maintenance plans for equipment, ensuring that tasks are completed within the scheduled timeframes.
- Performance Improvement: Analyze equipment performance data and recommend improvements to maintenance processes to increase manufacturing efficiency.
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair:
- Fault Diagnosis: Identify and diagnose complex equipment and system failures using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Fault Repair: Lead the technical team in executing efficient and prompt repairs to minimize downtime and resume operations quickly.
- Root Cause Analysis: Identify the root causes of equipment failures and take corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence, including process changes or equipment upgrades if necessary.
- Team Management:
- Supervision of Maintenance Technicians: Lead and guide the maintenance team to ensure quality and timely execution of tasks while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Team Training: Provide continuous training for maintenance personnel on modern maintenance techniques, proper tool use, and safety practices.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure maintenance activities align with operational needs.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintenance Reporting: Document all maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective tasks, in electronic or paper-based maintenance logs.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze data related to equipment failures and downtime, preparing detailed reports for senior management.
- Performance Reports: Provide regular performance reports on equipment health, maintenance costs, and the effectiveness of maintenance strategies.
- Spare Parts and Resource Management:
- Inventory Management: Monitor and update spare parts inventory regularly to ensure availability when needed.
- Procurement and Supply: Work with the procurement department to determine spare parts needs and source necessary equipment.
- Resource Utilization: Ensure optimal utilization of available resources, including manpower and materials, to maintain efficient operations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to Safety Procedures: Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Safety Training: Provide regular safety training for maintenance personnel, ensuring they follow safety protocols during fieldwork.
- Analysis and Continuous Improvement:
- Data Analysis: Use data analysis tools and statistical methods to monitor equipment performance and identify patterns or trends that could indicate the need for maintenance improvements.
- Process Improvement: Work on developing and improving maintenance processes and techniques to reduce costs and enhance production efficiency.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance for industrial equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and control systems.
- Tools and Systems: Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and the ability to use diagnostic tools and read technical drawings.
- Management Skills: Ability to manage a team and provide direction while making quick decisions during emergencies.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic is required, and English proficiency is preferred.
