Responsibilities

  • The Nursing Director of Surgical Services has 24/7 responsibility for their departments
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the surgical services department
  • Provide visionary leadership to foster excellence and collaboration
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure high standards of patient care
  • Lead initiatives to improve clinical practices and compliance
  • Recruit, train, and mentor surgical services staff
  • Promote ongoing professional development for the team
  • Foster strong relationships with surgeons and other stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison between the surgical services department and other hospital units
  • Develop and manage the department's budget
  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost-saving initiatives
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and accreditation standards
  • Implement and monitor policies for regulatory compliance
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the department or organization
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, including training and development opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including HIPAA
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve processes and enhance patient care
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
  • Develops and manages budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in surgical services within an acute care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
