Purpose of the Role

The Intermediate IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing technology projects within scope, budget, and timeline. This role works closely with cross-functional teamsincluding development, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholdersto ensure project objectives are met and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end IT projects, from initiation through to delivery

  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders

  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and status reports

  • Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and change control processes

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives for Agile teams

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate progress

  • Manage relationships with vendors and third-party providers when required

  • Ensure that project documentation is accurate and up to date

  • Track KPIs and project performance against agreed success metrics

  • Conduct post-project evaluations and identify areas for improvement

Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification) preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience managing IT projects

  • Proven experience delivering both software and infrastructure projects

  • Experience working in Agile and/or hybrid project environments

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Asana, Trello)

  • Good understanding of SDLC and infrastructure deployment processes

  • Strong command of MS Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Analytical thinker with attention to detail

  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivery

Other Requirements

  • South African citizenship or valid work permit (if applicable)

  • Willingness to work flexible hours when needed

  • Ability to travel to client sites (if required)
