About the Role

We are looking for an Intermediate Industrial Engineer to support a range of engineering and operational improvement initiatives. This 12-month contract role is ideal for an engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience, ready to take on responsibilities that drive efficiency, process optimization, and cost reduction within our operations.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment and contribute to improving system performance, production workflows, and overall operational effectiveness across various engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, and optimize industrial processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs

  • Develop and implement workflow designs, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards

  • Support the integration of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, production, maintenance) to implement new processes or improve existing ones

  • Conduct time studies and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement

  • Create and manage documentation related to process improvements, equipment specifications, and compliance standards

  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives

  • Contribute to capacity planning, resource allocation, and production scheduling to meet operational goals

  • Assist with the development of performance metrics and KPIs to track improvements and report on project status

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of relevant industrial engineering experience, ideally within manufacturing or operational environments

  • Certification in ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) or equivalent

  • Proficiency in process design, optimization, and production planning

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex production and operational issues

  • Proficient in using engineering tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ERP systems

  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, MATLAB, etc.) for performance tracking and reporting

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with a focus on results

Contract Details

  • Duration: 12 months (renewable based on performance and project needs)

  • Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
