About the job Private Client Services Associate - Junior Level
We are seeking a qualified Associate Attorney with experience in trusts and estates, transfer tax, and associated income tax areas of the law. The ideal candidate will have some experience in the field, with a minimum of one year of work experience preferred. We welcome candidates who have completed or are in the process of completing LLMs in taxation or estate planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on trusts and estate matters, including estate planning, wealth preservation, and tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies.
- Assist clients with the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
- Advise clients on tax implications related to trusts and estates, including transfer tax and income tax considerations.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax and estate planning issues.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to develop and implement comprehensive estate plans for high-net-worth individuals and families.
- Draft legal documents, including trust agreements, partnership agreements, and charitable giving documents.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to trusts and estates.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in trusts and estates, transfer tax, and associated income tax areas of the law.
- Completion of or in the process of completing an LLM in taxation or estate planning is preferred.
- Significant and meaningful experience in international tax planning is preferred.
- Currently licensed to practice law in New York, or currently eligible to become licensed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
