Cyber & Data Security Associate

Job Description:

There is an immediate opening for a position in the Cyber & Data Security department, within our Litigation & Trial Practice group, for an experienced Associate Attorney with 2-6 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in breach investigations and responses, along with substantive experience in cybersecurity and privacy counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct breach investigations and develop response strategies.
• Assist clients in navigating regulatory requirements related to cybersecurity and privacy.
• Provide proactive counseling on cybersecurity risk management and compliance.
• Draft and negotiate cybersecurity and privacy-related agreements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address client needs effectively.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in cybersecurity and data privacy laws.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the state bar.
• 2-6 years of experience in cybersecurity and data privacy law.
• Strong understanding of breach investigation procedures and response protocols.
• Experience in cybersecurity risk management and compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in litigation related to cybersecurity and data privacy issues.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• CIPP/E, CIPP/US, or similar certifications.
