About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager. As the Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of our firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial matters. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented finance professional to contribute to the growth and success of our firm.

You Will:

  •  Accurately process settlements with complex fee divisions, expenses, and multiple liens, in a short turnaround period.
  •  Oversee budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and end-of-month bill payments.
  • Liaise with the external accounting firm, providing them with all requested information including monthly and annual bank reconciliations and 1099 reporting requirements.
  • Manage the firm's accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger including preparing the P&Ls.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of the firm's IOLTA accounts in various jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with the firm's primary financial institution and supervise the case and business lines of credit.
  • Review and approve invoices, create expense reports, process reimbursements, deposit, and issue checks.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports and analysis to senior management.
  • Calculate and track attorney's fees, including referral fees.
  • Implement efficient cash management strategies, including managing trust accounts and client settlements.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to develop financial strategies and initiatives that support the firm's growth and profitability goals.
  • Supervise and mentor finance team staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management and accounting, preferably within a law firm or legal services environment.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Advanced QuickBooks knowledge.

Nice to Have:

  •  CPA Certification.
  •  Experience using Smart Advocate.
  • Knowledge of personal injury law and related financial processes.
