The Electrical Maintenance Technician will:
- Perform regular and preventative maintenance on installed electromechanical equipment and effectively troubleshoot complex problems associated with electromechanical machinery and systems.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose and repair.
- Be a valued member of the maintenance team, interacting with production, industrial maintenance, and cross-functionally to ensure the reliability of equipment, service, safety, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three-plus years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience with industrial electronics, AC/DC theory, power transmission, test instruments and instrumentation, VFDs, PLCs, ladder logic, relay logic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motor controls, and electrical construction.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of industrial equipment using schematic diagrams and equipment manuals as guides.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space, and mobile equipment operation.
- Great teamwork, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship, Journeyman Certification, or equivalent work experience.
- Steel industry experience.
- Welding and light fabrication experience.
- Experience with industrial communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet).
- Experience with Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control loops and combustion controls.
- Basic understanding of mechanical devices.
- Strong communication skills and familiarity with working in a team-based environment.
- Safety awareness training.
