Senior Site Project Manager – Civil & Modular Buildings

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Project Manager to manage a civil and modular building project based in Botswana. This is a hands-on, site-based position requiring a strong construction background and the ability to take ownership of project delivery from site coordination through to completion and handover.

The successful candidate must have substantial experience managing construction sites, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring that projects are delivered according to programme, quality and contractual requirements.

This is initially a 4-month contract, with the possibility of extension to approximately one year depending on upcoming projects and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of civil and modular building works on site.
• Coordinate and manage civil, building and modular building subcontractors.
• Monitor construction progress against the agreed project programme.
• Check and verify site measurements and quantities.
• Review and verify subcontractor claims and supporting documentation.
• Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications and required quality standards.
• Manage site productivity, resources and subcontractor performance.
• Identify and address delays, construction issues and project risks.
• Coordinate activities between contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Maintain effective site records and project documentation.
• Oversee quality control and ensure defects or non-conformances are addressed.
• Manage project completion, snagging and handover.
• Provide regular progress reporting to senior management.
• Ensure appropriate health and safety standards are maintained throughout the project.

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years' construction site management experience.
• Strong experience managing civil and building projects.
• Previous experience with modular / prefabricated building projects would be highly advantageous.
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors on active construction sites.
• Strong understanding of site measurements, quantities and subcontractor claim checking.
• Demonstrated ability to manage construction programmes, quality and handover.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify discrepancies in quantities and contractor claims.
• Excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving ability.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Able to operate independently in a senior site-based capacity.
• Must be available to work on site in Botswana for the duration of the contract.
• Must be available to commence at short notice due to the urgency of the project.
