Job Description:

Are you an experienced financial professional with a passion for driving business performance? We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Planning and Analysis Controller in the manufacturing sector.

As the Financial Planning and Analysis Controller, you will play a key role in analyzing financial information and implementing effective strategies to enhance overall business performance. You will be responsible for maintaining financial policies and management information systems, as well as establishing effective communication channels to inform management on all aspects of company finance. Additionally, you will develop financial reports and metrics to support decision-making processes.

You will meet the following criteria/minimum requirements:

  • A strong accounting background with a CA (SA), CPA, CIMA, ACCA, or AGA qualification.
  • Alternatively, a BCom in Cost & Management Accounting with extensive experience in FP&A within the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience with developing financial reports and metrics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in FP&A and Accounting.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for accuracy and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Your Key Accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Financial Reporting & Metrics Master: Craft insightful financial reports and metrics. Analyze results to identify areas for improvement and develop new reporting models that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement.
  • Profitability Champion: Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and root causes. Use this knowledge to make data-driven recommendations that enhance profitability.
  • Future Focused Forecaster: Develop accurate financial forecasts by analyzing trends, historical data, and market conditions. Anticipate potential risks and opportunities, ensuring the company is prepared for the future.
  • Collaborative Budget Builder: Partner with various departments to create annual budgets that align with strategic goals. Set clear financial targets for each cost center to ensure we're on track for success.
  • Technology & Compliance Pro: Utilize financial software and tools to streamline processes, ensure accuracy, and optimize efficiency. Maintain compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and legal requirements.
  • Annual Statements Architect: Assist in preparing annual financial statements, including reconciliations of accounts to comply with IFRS standards and statutory requirements.
