General Manager
About the job General Manager
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, strategic planning, and overall performance of the organization. This role requires leadership across multiple departments, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with company goals. The General Manager will also engage with external stakeholders, optimize business processes, and lead initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with the company's objectives, focusing on growth, sustainability, and innovation in oil and gas operations.
- Identify market opportunities and business risks, providing solutions to maintain competitive advantage.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and safety in all projects and facilities.
- Coordinate with other department and functional teams to optimize resource utilization and maintain operational excellence.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to operational KPIs, including production targets, cost management, and safety standards.
- Manage budgets and financial planning for all operational activities, ensuring adherence to financial targets and cost control measures.
- Review financial statements, project budgets, and cost analyses to ensure profitability and identify areas for improvement.
- Engage with finance teams to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with industry standards, government regulations, and environmental policies.
- Oversee the implementation of HSE protocols, including emergency response planning and risk assessments.
- Ensure all projects and facilities are compliant with industry regulations and conduct regular audits to maintain high safety standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, partners, and investors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners, enhancing the companys reputation and business network.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the companys interests and growth potential.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or Masters degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 8-15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of oil and gas operations, project management, HSE standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
- Financial Acumen: Proficiency in budgeting, financial planning, and cost management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to make data-driven decisions and assess business performance
