About the job Head of Business Development (Bakery Ingredients)
Our client is a food technology company that specializes in R&D, production, and sales of bakery ingredients - especially non-dairy whipped cream.
They are searching for a resilient and seasoned Head of Business Development with a strong track record in the bakery ingredients industry - especially for dairy and non-dairy whipped cream products. In this role, you will work closely with executive leadership, sales, marketing, R&D, technical application, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to create and execute business development strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth and expand the company's market presence in Brazil. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience developing B2B business within bakery, foodservice, distributors, HORECA, and food manufacturing channels - with a solid understanding of whipping cream applications, customer requirements, and ingredient solution selling.
Strong professional working fluency in English, and fluency in Portuguese is REQUIRED.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the company's business development strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth and expand market share for dairy and non-dairy whipped cream products.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across commercial bakeries, industrial bakeries, food manufacturers, dessert manufacturers, cafes, HORECA operators, distributors, and foodservice channels.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including procurement, R&D, production, and commercial teams within target customer accounts.
- Lead the entire business development process from market identification and prospecting through commercial negotiations, contract execution, and customer onboarding.
- Develop strategic account plans to expand existing customer relationships and increase product penetration across multiple product lines.
- Collaborate with technical application and R&D teams to develop customer-specific product solutions, conduct product demonstrations, and support new product trials.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new dairy and non-dairy whipped cream products based on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.
- Conduct regular market research to monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, ingredient innovations, and emerging consumer trends.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures, annual contracts, and long-term supply partnerships with strategic customers.
- Develop sales forecasts, business development pipelines, and market expansion plans while maintaining accurate CRM records.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry exhibitions, bakery trade shows, and food ingredient conferences.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on pipeline development, business opportunities, market intelligence, and commercial performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 10+ years of progressive business development experience in the bakery ingredients industry.
- Previous experience related to the sales of dairy and non-dairy whipped cream products is highly desirable.
- Proven experience selling to commercial bakeries, industrial bakeries, cake manufacturers, dessert manufacturers, food manufacturers, HORECA operators, foodservice companies, and distributors.
- Experience working closely with technical application, R&D, or product development teams to support customer trials, product evaluations, and commercial launches.
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, bakery production, ingredient applications, and commercial product positioning.
- Experience negotiating supply agreements, pricing structures, distribution partnerships, and long-term commercial contracts.
- Willingness to travel extensively to meet customers, distributors, and industry partners.
- Strong professional working fluency in English, and fluency in Portuguese is REQUIRED.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Food Technology, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred.
