Salary: £22,500.00-£24,000.00 per year

Our client is looking to recruit for a Level 2 or 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner to join their team as soon as possible, on a full-time, permanent basis. The setting is spacious and located close to public transport links.

The nursery has two floors with the Baby and Toddler rooms being based downstairs, with a separate sleep room for the Babies and Toddlers. In addition to this, they have a large play gym and soft play area which is available for all the children. A small but well-designed outdoor area is available with several activities. Staff often take the children to near-by greenery for local trips. Pre-schoolers also attend a local care home every Thursday in which they take part in planned activities with the residents of the care home.

They are open Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 6:30pm, with a one week Christmas closure. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care
• Caring for the all-round daily needs of the children
• Contribute effectively to the team maintaining a high level of communication
• To work as an effective part of the nursery team and maintain good morale
• Have a high level of awareness of nursery policies and procedures
• Provide appropriate information and feedback to parents
• Settle new starters
• Ensure parents receive daily updates
• To be open and welcoming to all parents and children
• Ensure developmental records for each child are kept up to date and accurate
• To maintain routines within each area of the nursery
• Ensure the room registers and daily sign in sheets are accurately completed
• To maintain a well organised filing system
• To attend and actively participate in regular room and staff meetings
• To maintain a good level of communication to senior management on everyday occurrences
• Report all maintenance requirements to the Manager
• Implement all Health & Safety procedures
• Ensure you are aware of risk assessments that are carried out
• Ensure the rooms are left clean and tidy
• To take part in regular fire drills

Requirements of this Role:

• Level 2 or 3 in Childcare
• Minimum of 6 months previous Childcare experience
