Our client is currently looking to recruit for a passionate and dedicated Room Leader to start as soon as possible.* If you have a full Level 3 in Childcare and are looking for a new role where your skills, knowledge and experience can be fully utilised, this role could be for you and we would love to hear from you! A minimum of 2 years previous experience as a Nursery Practitioner* or above is required to be considered for this role. Previous Room Leader experience is strongly desirable however not required.

The successful candidate will be starting a Management position in which you will be responsible for running your allocated room and managing the staff within your room. This is a permanent role which is offering a competitive basic salary and additional attractive benefits.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implement the EYFS curriculum
  • Lead planning for the EYFS curriculum
  • Be a positive role model to both the children in your room, as well as the staff under your Management
  • To assist nursery team in providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment
  • Maintain accurate children's records
  • Assume deputy responsibilities in the absence of the deputy manager if required
  • To supervise staff and students in training
  • Support, mentor and supervise room staff in their day-to-day duties
  • To ensure all daily routines are adhered to
  • Ensure records are kept up to date
  • To maintain staff ratios
  • Monitor your teams paperwork including planning and learning journeys on a regular basis
  • To assist in the development and support of other staff members
  • Provide high standards of quality within the nursery
  • To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents
  • Be a key person
  • Remain up-to-date with current developments in childcare
  • To lead by example
  • To be responsible for the welfare of all children in your designated room
  • Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met
  • To reinforce company policies and procedures

Requirements of this Role:

  • Level 3 in Childcare or above
  • Minimum of 2 years previous Room Leader experience preferable
  • Passion to upskill
  • A positive role model to your team
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS
  • Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding
