Salary: £31,000.00-£36,000.00 per year

We are proud to be working on behalf of our client in Essex who are currently recruiting for a Nursery Manager. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a minimum of Level 3 in Childcare and 4+ years experience.

The nursery is ideally located, being within walking distance to near-by transport links and has near-by free parking. They offer high quality education and care to children aged 3 months - 5 years and are open from 7:30am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

During their latest Ofsted inspection, they achieved an overall grade 'Good' and received the following feedback:

  • "Staff are well deployed to ensure children are appropriately supervised"
  • "Staff promote children's communication and language skills"

The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing the nursery for their next Ofsted inspection and will provide effective and supportive leadership and management to your team. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the nursery, conducting staff appraisals, team meetings and promoting the nursery to prospective new families.

They are offering a very competitive salary, ranging between £31,000 - £36,000 per annum, dependant on experience and qualifications.

Your responsibilities as a Nursery Manager will include:

  • To be responsible for all aspects of people management
  • Providing staff with feedback on a weekly basis
  • To be responsible for recruitment of highly motivated employees
  • Ensure staff are offered frequent and relevant training and development
  • Allocating and monitoring the work of all nursery staff
  • To conduct thorough risk assessments
  • Ensure relevant health and safety legislation is adhered to
  • Review and update all nursery policy and procedures
  • To ensure the maintenance of consistently high standards
  • Develop and maintain systems which support quality standards
  • To ensure that every child has access to the highest standard of childcare
  • To develop, monitor and maintain appropriate systems
  • To ensure that all staff maintain full and accurate records of key children's progress
  • To ensure the nursery remains sustainable by assisting with invoicing, booking manager, fee collection, recording and banking etc
  • Ensure the nursery runs to full capacity working drawing from the marketing department
  • To cover ratios as and when required
  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature

Requirements of this Nursery Manager Role:

  • Minimum of Level 3 in Childcare
  • Minimum of 4 years previous Childcare experience
  • Level 2 in Safeguarding
  • Management experience in an Early Years setting
  • Experience of child protection and safeguarding
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of Ofsted standards for inspection requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum
