About The Client

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client who are currently recruiting a Nursery Room Leader to start as soon as possible. Candidates for this role must hold a minimum of Level 3 in Early Years as well as a minimum of 2 years previous experience in Childcare.

They are an Ofsted registered nursery and achieved an overall grade 'Good'.

The successful candidate will be joining a well-established, friendly and experienced team located in Hornchurch. You will be joining a nursery that continually works to ensure their staff feel valued and rewarded on a daily basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a Management position. As Room Leader, you will be responsible for monitoring your teams performance, being a positive role model to both the children and your team, training new staff and ensuring your room is continually running at the highest level in terms of care of the children and the level of education provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be the main contact for the designated Nursery room
  • Plan, prepare and participate in a range of activities in line with the EYFS
  • Support the Nursery Practitioners and students in the implementation and evaluation of childrens planning and progress
  • Be a key worker for a group of children by observing, monitoring and recording each individuals development
  • Attend staff training, meetings, parents evenings and open days as required
  • Communicate with parents/carers
  • Help children acquire self-help skills
  • Ensure that the nursery meets safety and hygiene requirements and to report any issues to a senior member of staff
  • To be flexible within working practices in the Nursery
  • To be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures including safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality and other relevant nursery policies
  • To keep up to date with developments in childcare
  • To maintain records and documentation that complies with statutory requirements
  • Conduct staff one to ones and appraisals
  • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as required from time to time
