Nursery Deputy Manager

Salary: Up to £28,000.00 per year

An exciting role for a Deputy Nursery Manager has become available at one of our clients settings, based in North West London. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who has a minimum of Level 3 in Childcare and at least 2 years previous experience as a Room Leader or above.

If you are looking for a Management position within a friendly and supportive nursery, this is the job for you! You will have the opportunity to assist the Nursery Manager in running the setting on a day-to-day basis.

Our client run the nursery based of inspiration from Montessori, Waldorf and Nature. Staff go outside with the children on a frequent basis, therefore the successful candidate must also share a love for outdoors.

This vacancy will also be room based. This position could be ideal for a qualified and experienced Practitioner looking for a step-up in their career and have some Management responsibilities.

The setting is ideally located, being near public transport links. Our client is open 49 weeks of the year, Monday to Thursday. Your hours will be 8:00am - 6:00pm with a 1 hour paid lunch break. You will receive 1 week off during Easter, 1 week at Christmas, Bank Holidays and 4 additional weeks annual leave for days of your choice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the nursery provides high quality childcare and early years education
  • Assist in leading the team
  • Ensuring that events, processes and procedures are successfully completed within agreed deadlines
  • To support Management of the nursery in accordance with nursery ethos, policies and procedures
  • Monitor all child protection and Health & Safety issues
  • Maintain the nursery environment and equipment
  • Assist the Nursery Manager in the daily running of the nursery
  • Have key person responsibility
  • Complete observations in line with the EYFS
  • Plan and prepare child lead activities
  • Any other reasonable Nursery Deputy Manager and room based responsibilities as and when required

Requirements for this Role:

  • Level 3 or above in Childcare
  • Previous experience of managing a room or team within a nursery setting
  • Minimum of 2 years previous Childcare experience
