Qualifications Required:

  • Doctorate degree.
  • Valid Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or Medical Doctor (MD) license.
  • 2 or more years of experience in Geriatric Care, Primary Care, or Post Acute.
  • Valid Medical Doctor (MD) certification/license in Pennsylvania (PA).
  • Valid BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Current DPS Certification or DPS In-Progress.
  • Current DEA Certification or DEA In-Progress.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Value Based Care.

Summary:

As a Physician, you will apply and adapt medical principles, methods, and techniques to deliver comprehensive geriatric primary care and post-acute care services. Your role includes diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Additionally, you will evaluate medical procedures and everyday situations to suggest ways to improve service delivery and profitability.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently completing patient history and physical data, performing comprehensive physical exams, and making appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests based on patient needs.
  • Prescribing suitable pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
  • Collaborating, educating, and supervising Advance Practice Providers in managing acute and long-term medical needs.
  • Maintaining and efficiently reviewing patient records, charts, and relevant information.
  • Instructing and educating patients and their families on medications and treatment instructions.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and providing a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medical practices related to primary care for geriatrics and senior living communities.
  • Familiarity with medical policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Skills in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • The ability to respond calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in geriatrics in primary care or post-acute care, including Senior living, SNF, IPR, and LTACH (not required but preferred).
  • Experience or a passion for value-based care is preferred.
  • Previous experience in EHR documentation.
  • Proficiency in documenting and billing in various healthcare settings.
  • A positive attitude, a commitment to delivering quality care, and an interest in joining a team-first approach among providers.

License/Certification:

  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of employment.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Current DPS and DEA certificates (or in progress).
