Pay:
- Starting salary of $33 to $38 per hour.
- A $1000 bonus is offered for completing the full contract.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of Texas (TX).
- Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS).
- Valid Regular Driver License (DL).
- Recent TB test within the past year.
Preferred:
- LVN License Number.
Responsibilities:
As an LVN you will perform various patient care duties under the supervision of the Unit RN and Unit Nurse Manager. Key responsibilities include:
- Administering medications and treatments orally, rectally, internally, or by injection.
- Performing technical nursing procedures in accordance with facility and state regulations.
- Documenting and reporting pertinent observations.
- Communicating orally and in writing with other team members regarding pertinent information.
- Responding to emergency situations to ensure the safety of individuals.
- Following safety and infection control procedures of the facility.
- Monitoring individuals for treatments and procedures.
- Providing education to individuals with specific health goals.
- Assisting other staff in turning/repositioning individuals to administer treatments.
- Managing individual medical records in Electronic Health Record or paper chart.
Job Requirements for all candidates:
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated computer and electronic health record skills (preferred).
- Licensed to practice as a licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).
Additional Information:
- No extra time off will be available during the holiday season, including Christmas and New Year's.
- Candidates must have a valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification.
- Negative PPD (tuberculosis) results within the last 12 months are required.
- COVID-19 testing with a negative result is required (facility provides testing on the date of OB).
- COVID-19 Vaccination Card (if applicable, not mandatory).
- Candidates must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check.
- Candidates must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (provided by the facility).
