Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Dietitian experience (3+ years)
- Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license
- Valid Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS) certification
Overview:
Job Description: The Registered Dietitian will perform the following job-specific duties:
- Administer comprehensive nutrition prevention programs, including assessment, prescriptions, coaching, and counseling.
- Coordinate with H2H & HP staff to deliver programs in various community settings.
- Execute nutrition policy and program requirements in accordance with established guidance.
- Utilize a range of principles, practices, and procedures in dietetics and behavior change theories to plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition programs.
- Assess nutrition behaviors, environment, and beneficiary needs, determining installation nutrition priorities.
- Develop, coordinate, implement, market, and evaluate comprehensive nutrition programs and services.
- Research, develop, acquire, and maintain materials for evidence-based nutrition programs.
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and contribute to chronic disease management protocols.
- Conduct individual and group nutrition and lifestyle interventions using adult learning and behavior change theories.
- Maintain data quality management and reporting requirements.
- Document nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy in electronic health records.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition programs for all populations.
- Communicate and coordinate nutrition health promotion programs.
- Use appropriate social marketing tools to meet program goals.
- Participate in related teleconferences, working groups, and educational sessions.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree accredited by ACEND or completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) accredited by ACEND or completion of a post-Baccalaureate degree Dietetic Internship Program accredited by ACEND.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in health promotion, obesity & weight management, and lifestyle counseling.
- Licensure/Registration: Must maintain currency through continuing education in dietetics and nutrition in compliance with ACEND requirements.
- Clinical Certification: Eligible for Certification in Health Education from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) preferred.
- Life Support Certification: Possess and maintain AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Security: Must pass a Government background check/security clearance.
