CNC Programmer

Our client is looking for a CNC Lathe Machinist to join their team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the CNC lead hands, and will be expected to follow company procedures and best practices to deliver high quality results on time, every time. The successful applicant will be able to prioritize, provide expert knowledge, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Setup, use, and read all on-site measuring equipment
• Sharpen drill bits, tool bits, and understand tool life management (changing out inserts)
• Clean/maintain equipment and workstation daily
• Ensure all setup tools (clamps, vises, angle plates, steady rests, follow rests, etc.) are removed from machine at end of shift and put back in proper location(s)
• Setup fixturing tools required for job; set all to length and diameter offsets
• Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on machining centres
• Follow company policies, procedures and safety protocols at all times
• May be required to maintain customer deliver dates (to be determined by supervisor)

Applicant Requirements

• Good verbal and written English skills
• Must have a lockable roller tool chest no larger than 24 deep x 36 wide stocked with a minimum set of tools (list to be supplied)
• Working knowledge of Geo-Metric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Understanding of all G- and M-codes along with alarms or be able to find the information within manuals
• Ability to call up programs and do program editing
