Rural Staffing Services is partnering with a respected rural healthcare organization in south-central Washington to recruit a Facilities Maintenance Technician III.
This role plays a vital part in keeping hospital facilities, equipment, and grounds operating safely and efficiently. In rural healthcare, reliable facilities operations are essential to patient care. From maintaining HVAC systems to repairing equipment and ensuring the campus remains safe and functional, this position helps support the entire care team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem solving, working with a variety of systems, and taking pride in maintaining buildings and equipment that serve the community.
Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, repairs building systems, supports facility operations, and helps ensure a safe and functional healthcare environment.
This role works with a variety of systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and grounds maintenance. The technician also assists with safety monitoring and may provide security support when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repair of facility systems and equipment
Maintain HVAC systems, electrical components, plumbing systems, and mechanical equipment
Troubleshoot system issues and perform repairs as needed
Complete work orders and preventative maintenance documentation using maintenance software
Perform general building maintenance including painting, carpentry, and facility repairs
Maintain hospital equipment including facility tools, vehicles, and maintenance equipment
Assist with grounds maintenance including landscaping, irrigation systems, snow removal, and general campus upkeep
Ensure equipment and work areas meet safety and operational standards
Support emergency response activities and facility safety needs
Assist with waste removal, recycling, and maintaining clean work environments
Provide security support when needed, including responding to safety concerns or alarms
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED required
Licensure / Certifications
Valid driver's license required
HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications preferred
Experience
Minimum five years of experience in building maintenance, construction trades, or facility operations
Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of facility systems
Experience using maintenance software or work order systems
Ability to operate maintenance tools, power equipment, and facility vehicles safely
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Ability to respond calmly and effectively during urgent or emergency situations
Strong teamwork and communication skills
