Interim Role Overview

The Interim Chief Nursing Officer will work closely with executive leadership and clinical teams to support nursing operations and maintain high standards of patient care.

This role focuses on strengthening communication, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring safe and effective clinical operations throughout the organization.

Providing mentorship and guidance to nursing leaders and frontline staff

Helping maintain stability and continuity of care during the interim transition

This role requires a leader who can quickly assess needs, build trust with staff, and support the hospital during an important period of transition.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with an active and unrestricted license

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Prior experience serving as a Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, or senior nursing leadership role

Experience working in rural hospitals or Critical Access Hospitals strongly preferred

Knowledge of rural hospital operations, regulatory standards, and nursing quality initiatives

Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills

Ability to quickly assess operations and provide leadership support during an interim assignment

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate

Direct 1099 engagement with the hospital

Final compensation will be determined based on experience and assignment details

Travel and housing support may be available depending on candidate location
