Rural Staffing Services® partners with rural hospitals, clinics, community health centers, and healthcare organizations throughout Vermont to identify experienced leaders across clinical and ancillary services.

We are currently connecting with professionals who may be interested in active and upcoming sterile processing, surgical services, laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, and related department leadership opportunities across Vermont.

These opportunities may include leadership within Critical Access Hospitals, community hospitals, Rural Health Clinics, outpatient centers, long-term care organizations, and integrated rural healthcare systems.

What You May Lead

Responsibilities will vary by organization and position and may include:

Providing operational and clinical leadership for a specialty department or service line
Supporting safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
Leading, mentoring, and developing clinical or technical teams
Managing staffing, scheduling, productivity, and department workflows
Supporting recruitment, retention, orientation, and employee engagement
Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and quality standards
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety requirements
Preparing for surveys, inspections, and departmental audits
Managing supplies, equipment, vendors, budgets, and capital needs
Improving communication and coordination across departments
Supporting process improvement, service growth, and operational efficiency
Collaborating with physicians, nurses, executives, and other department leaders
Monitoring quality, safety, productivity, and service performance
Helping ensure essential services remain available close to home

What You May Bring

Qualifications will vary by opportunity, but organizations may seek:

Progressive experience in the relevant clinical or ancillary specialty
Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, supervisor, or comparable department leader
Strong knowledge of department operations, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
Experience leading teams, managing workflows, and supporting employee development
The ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and executive teams
Experience with budgeting, staffing, equipment, or performance improvement
Experience within rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, community hospitals, or other rural healthcare organizations
Relevant education, licensure, registration, or certification based on the specialty
A visible, practical, and relationship-focused leadership style
