Pharmacy Technician
Day Shift (10-hour shifts)

Rural Staffing Services is partnering with a respected rural healthcare organization in south-central Washington to recruit a Pharmacy Technician.
This role supports the hospital pharmacy team by assisting with medication preparation, inventory management, and distribution of medications for patient care. In rural healthcare, pharmacy teams play an essential role in supporting safe and efficient treatment across the hospital and clinic settings.

Position Overview
The Pharmacy Technician provides pharmacological support services under the direction of the pharmacist by preparing, stocking, and distributing medications according to provider orders and established procedures.
This role works closely with pharmacists, nurses, and providers to ensure medications are prepared accurately, inventory is maintained properly, and pharmacy operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with medication preparation, stocking, and distribution
Maintain pharmacy inventory and order medications and supplies as needed
Remove outdated medications and ensure proper disposal per regulatory guidelines
Refill and manage automated dispensing cabinets (such as Pyxis or similar systems)
Enter prescription data and assist with prescription processing
Prepare unit-dose medications and emergency department take-home medication packs
Assist with IV preparation when applicable and under supervision
Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
Answer pharmacy-related questions from hospital staff regarding medication availability or prescription status
Perform monthly inspections of medication storage areas to ensure safety and compliance
Support safe handling and disposal of pharmaceutical and biohazard materials
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment
Qualifications
Education
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
Licensure / Certification
Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician license required
National Pharmacy Technician certification preferred
Experience
Minimum one year of recent experience in an outpatient, retail, or hospital pharmacy setting preferred
Skills and Abilities
Strong attention to detail and medication safety practices
Knowledge of pharmacy inventory systems and medication preparation procedures
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Strong communication skills with pharmacists, nurses, and providers
Basic computer skills and ability to work with pharmacy software systems
Commitment to maintaining accuracy and patient safety
