Rural Staffing Services is Hiring: Manager, Application Development

Rural Staffing Services (RSS) is seeking a Manager, Application Development on behalf of our client in Broomfield, CO. This is a mid-level leadership role that will oversee a team of core developers, driving the design, development, and implementation of enterprise application solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial institution technologies and software development methodologies, along with proven leadership experience.

Position Details:

  • Title: Manager, Application Development
  • Location: On-site in Broomfield, CO
  • Salary Range: $113,000 $142,000 + 8% annual bonus
  • Relocation Assistance: Partial support available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of core developers to design, develop, and implement business solutions optimizing the organization's core banking platform.
  • Collaborate with business units and IT teams to ensure technology solutions align with strategic objectives.
  • Oversee software development best practices, including coding standards, testing protocols, and version control.
  • Serve as a liaison with external vendors to integrate and maintain enterprise application solutions.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application performance and security.
  • Influence executive leadership and contribute to agile project management methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience with financial institution technologies such as Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
  • Proven leadership experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing teams.
  • Ability to influence executive leadership and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Understanding of agile and iterative project management practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with core banking applications (Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen).
  • Experience with IBM AIX operating systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL development, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and engineering processes.
