Rural Staffing Services is actively recruiting a Director of Nursing (DON) for an established behavioral health facility in Vancouver, WA. This is an opportunity for a dynamic nursing leader to oversee inpatient behavioral health services, drive quality patient care, and lead a dedicated team in a collaborative environment.

About the Role

The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the overall clinical and administrative leadership of the nursing department, ensuring high-quality care delivery, regulatory compliance, and staff development. This role is critical in shaping patient outcomes and fostering a positive work culture within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the nursing team, ensuring excellence in patient care.

  • Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, referral sources, and employees to maintain a high standard of service.

  • Oversee nursing operations, staff scheduling, and resource management to maintain optimal patient care levels.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as accreditation standards.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

  • Lead and mentor nursing managers and clinical staff, fostering professional development and retention.

  • Monitor key performance indicators, manage budgets, and prepare reports for executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Washington.

  • Experience: Prior experience in behavioral health/psychiatric care.

  • Certifications: CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in an inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric health setting.

  • Advanced degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or a plan to obtain).

  • Strong background in patient assessment, treatment planning, and regulatory compliance.
